Description |
A lively original Brazilian chorinho influenced by the music of J.S.Bach. This is a lead sheet for flute containing chords and lines for an accompanying instrument such as guitar or piano. The lead instrument could be also mandolin, bandolim, violin, or any other instrument within the same range. Choro or chorinho is a style of Brazilian music that originated in Rio de Janeiro toward the end of the 19th century. A combination of European music and Afro-Brazilian rhythms, it's in some ways akin to ragtime, but with a definite Brazilian flavor. Luiz Simas' original chorinhos have many other influences, such as jazz, bossa-nova, classical. Some of them stick to a more traditional form, while others are truly adventurous and can be called "modern" chorinhos. |
